'Project Darzi' is an initiative undertaken to help tailors who lost their jobs during the corona pandemic.
Three layer cotton masks were made using waste fabrics left over in the factories of different designers associated with us during a time when the country was under a complete lockdown and tailors who would've been otherwise retrenched were trained to stitch masks. The proceeds collected have been used to help the tailors retain their jobs.
Apart from helping the tailors, Project Darzi has also made many more small businesses sustainable and helped the community by providing essentials like breathable masks at an affordable rate.
This initiative was started by Ms. Inayaa Gulati, a student of tenth grade, Vasant Valley School in March'20.
